Retirement Wishes

A farewell to our President (AIPSA-Kerala), Smt. V. Valsala
Smt. V. Valsala, Private Secretary to Postmaster General, Central Region, Kerala
Circle, Ernakulam 682 020 was born on 8th October 1953 at Kannambra, Palakkad
District. She was the only daughter of V.Parukutty Amma and N. Govindan Nair
who are no more now. She joined the Department on 25th August 1973 as
Stenographer to Superintendent, Postal Stores Depot, Thrissur and complete d
more than 40 years of unblemished service. During her career she rendered her
service in PSD, Thrissur, Irinjalakuda Division, Thrissur Division, Regional Office
Kochi and Calicut. She was awarded 'DAK SEVA” in 1995. In our Circle, she is the
only person who got DAK SEVA in the Stenographer cadre. She was promoted to
Gazetted cadre as Personal Secretary to PMG, Northern Region, Kozhikode during
2001. Now she is the senior most Gazetted Officer in the Kerala Circle and the
first and only lady Gazetted Stenographer as well as senior most Stenographer in
our Circle. Though she has been promoted to Senior Private Secretary cadre and
posted to Tamilnadu, on her personal reasons the same was declined by her.
Moreover she is the President of All India Postal Stenographers Association, Kerala
branch and actively involved in the Association activities. She is wedded to Shri
V.M. Prabhakaran, who has retired from Kerala Govt. Forest Service. She is having
two children, elder one Smt. Praveena married and well settle at US and the
younger one Mr. Prasant is working at Qatar. On attainment of 60 years of age she
is retiring from postal service on superannuation on 31st October 2013. On behalf
