                Sub: FIXATION OF PAY ON PROMOTION TO A POST CARRYING HIGHER DUTIES AND
                        RESPONSIBILITIES BUT CARRYING THE SAME GRADE PAY

                              issued by Directorate of Human Resources Department, Directorate of Income Tax,
                              Central Board of Direct Taxes, Ministry of Finance, Govt of India (Copy enclosed)

                As per the letter cited under reference b) above, Department of Expenditure has approved for fixation of pay under Rule 13(i) of the CSS(Revised Pay) Rules 2008 in cases of promotion from Steno II(till merger of Steno Grade-I and II) where both feeder and promotional posts are in the same grade pay i.e. 4200 in terms of Department of Expenditure's Office Memorandum NO.10/02/2011-E.III/A dated 07.01.2013 subject to the condition that fixation of pay in such cases was done as per FR 22(1) (a)(1) prior to 01.01.2006.

                In view of the above, you are requested to issue a letter to all the Departments of Govt of India to fix a pay for the Stenographers who were promoted from Steno II to Steno I prior to 1.1.2006.
