Let me congratulate you all for taking so much effort to form a Confederation for taking up the service matters of Non Sectt. Stenographers. As we all know the Government has not only tactfully avoided implementing complete parity but instead have granted higher scale of pay to Central Sectt Staff overriding pay Commission recommendations. In reality, they have taken up the matter in such a way that a complete parity can not be implemented. Therefore, it is high time that we should fight for our cause. By the way, I may mention here that there is already a provision in rules to get the GP of Rs.4200/- to existing Grade.III Stenographers. The DOPT OM No.DOPT OM No.28034/1/88-Estt.(D), dated 6.2.1989 and OM No.22034/5/87-Estt(D), dated 30.1.1991 provides for upgradation of Steno post from Grade.III to Grade.II (Rs.5000-8000).
